Well, there’s still 4 days and about 15 hours left for these nine vintage hockey cards that started out with a $.01 starting bid on eBay. There has been signs of life and one card has even been bid on. However, I’m hoping for a lot more action in the next, well, four days and 15 hours!
Here’s the raw update:
Player | Make | Year | # | Current Bid | Bids | Watchers | Views |
Trottier, Bryan | O-Pee-Chee | 1978-79 | 10 | $0.00 | 0 | 0 | 6 |
Mahovlich, Frank | Topps | 1972-73 | 140 | $0.00 | 0 | 0 | 7 |

Lemaire, Jacques | Topps | 1972-73 | 25 | $0.00 | 0 | 0 | 4 |
Mikita, Stan | O-Pee-Chee | 1972-73 | 19 | $0.00 | 0 | 0 | 15 |
Esposito, Phil | O-Pee-Chee | 1972-73 | 76 | $0.00 | 0 | 0 | 5 |
Mikita, Stan | Topps | 1971-72 | 125 | $0.00 | 0 | 1 | 8 |
Harper, Terry | O-Pee-Chee | 1968-69 | 57 | $0.00 | 0 | 0 | 13 |
Dejordy, Denis | Topps | 1963-64 | 24 | $0.01 | 1 | 2 | 14 |
An interesting thing about the one card that has been bid on is that Denis Dejordy’s rookie card from the 1961-62 Topps series, just two years before the 1963-64 Topps card that is being auctioned, is valued at up to $40. His 1962-63 card was rated by Beckett as well but at $15. After that, Denis Dejordy was limited to common/semi-star status.
Stay tuned for another update in a couple of days, or view the auctions (links to each eBay auction located at the original eBay Penny Project article.
