Vintage Hockey Cards Report was started about three and half years ago and now contains nearly 400 different articles related to hockey history and the hobby of hockey card collecting. To show appreciation for the great readers of www.vintagehockeycardsreport.com, we’d come up with a little free gift for anyone to download.
How to download: Either right click below anywhere where ‘Hockey Cards And The Men They Honour’ is hyperlinked and select ‘Save Target As’ or left click to directly open the PDF then just save file.
‘Hockey Cards And The Men They Honour’ is a collection of the 25 most viewed articles at VHCR in 2014, all wrapped up in a convenient PDF eBook. Download it. Share it. Use it how ever you like.
It was interesting journey for me, putting this together. Between May, 2011, when the website was first started, and now, the length, quality and format of the articles have changed considerably. I’m pretty confident they’ve changed and improved for the better. Because choosing these articles was based on views and not on quality, there is an interesting mix.
When VHCR was started back in 2011, it was originally intended to be a site to drive traffic and buyers to what we were selling on eBay. A lot of the early articles were case studies that followed winning bid pricing on hockey cards at eBay and were very money and value intensive. As eBay soured and became a pain in the ass, the site evolved into more of a collection of biographies of great (and not so great) NHL players with less focus on eBay and money.
We no longer buy and sell cards on eBay, or any other auction site for that matter. We do still have a connection with eBay but as an affiliate with ads placed within most articles. These ads are hopefully useful to the reader and not just an eyesore. They are extremely targeted, showing only listings of the player that is being featured. Hopefully, we’re helping collectors track down the treasure they’ve been looking for. Hopefully, at a great price.

This is right now available only in a PDF format. However, if you are the owner of a Kindle device, you can easily convert the file and send to your device. Simply send an e-mail to your Amazon Kindle address (if you own a Kindle – you know what I’m talking about). Attach the PDF file and in the subject line type ‘Convert’. Shortly after, Amazon will send the converted file to your device.
The PDF transfers nicely to Kindle but the images come out much larger at basically the size of a full page. As for the reading, the format is unaffected.
I apologize in advance for the repetitive advertising at the end of most articles. This comes in the form of either a picture ad for www.vintagehockeycardsreport.com or one of our other hockey sites, www.ohlalumnicentral.com. This eBook is a bit of guinea pig…
